Drug Lipitor Information – Lipitor and Dosage
How to take Lipitor
Lipitor medicine is manufactured in tablet form and is taken orally once per day. However, this may not always be the case so make sure to follow the directions on your prescription label. Make sure you always take the Lipitor drug exactly as prescribed by your physician. You should continue to take your prescription Lipitor even if you start to feel better. Never stop taking your prescription unless your physician instructs you to do so.
Note: The number of tablets prescribed per-day depends on the strength of the prescription drug. In addition, the amount of tablets taken, the time between doses, and the duration the drug is taken is dependant on the medical problem related to the prescription and the discretion of the physician prescribing the drug. Always follow the directions given to you by your physician!
Missed Lipitor dose
If your physician or pharmacist has ordered you to take Lipitor medicine on a specific schedule and you have missed a Lipitor dose you can take it as soon as you remember. If you remember close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Never double dose!
Lipitor overdose
Seek medical attention immediately!
In the event of an overdose get medical attention immediately. If the victim has collapsed and/or has stopped breathing, you should call your local emergency services (dial 911).
